Management committee (extracted from the Constitution)
All Management Committee members shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) by the members of the Association. They shall sit for a period of two years but shall be eligible for re-election.
Nominations for the election of individual Management Committee positions shall be signed by at least 2 members of the group and should be delivered to the existing committee no less than 7 days before the AGM. All nominations will be notified to members at the AGM.
The Management Committee shall consist of 8 elected members aged 17 and over. The Committee will also have the power to co-opt up to three additional members.
The Management Committee shall at the first meeting following the AGM, appoint the officers of the Association to include the following office bearers, Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.
The Management Committee will be solely responsible for the management of the Association and shall meet once a month.
The Quorum at meetings of the Management Committee shall be 3 members. If there is no quorum at a meeting, any decisions will be delayed until the following meeting.
The Management Committee may appoint sub-committees as deemed necessary by the Committee and shall determine their responsibilities, duration and membership. Any sub-committee shall report back to the management committee and be accountable to the management Committee.
The Secretary of the Management Committee shall keep minutes of all Committee meetings in books provided for the recording of
all appointments of officers made by the Management Committee,
the names of all members present at Management meetings,
all resolutions and proceedings of the meetings of the Management Committee.
A member of the Management Committee shall cease to be a member:
upon giving the Management Committee written notice of their intention to resign,
if a decision is taken by the Management Committee terminating their membership of the Association,
if they fail to attend two consecutive meetings of the committee without offering a reasonable excuse.
Office Bearers of the Management may hold a single post for no more than two years (two terms). After two years they may be re-elected to the position of an ordinary member of the Management Committee and they will be eligible to re-election as an office bearer again, following one full term as an ordinary member.
If necessary the casting vote any Management Committee meeting will be held by Chairperson.
Members of the Management Committee will received no remuneration for work carried out on behalf of the Association, other than reasonable out of pocket expenses connected with work carried out on behalf of the association.
Based on the latest meeting held in Jordanstown on Saturday, 20 December 2008, the appointed management committee for the 2008-2009 period is as follows:
